Plays Maybe, Plays For Now

It's no secret Microsoft are miffed by the success of the Apple iTunes Music Store.

The iTMS, together with the iPod and the iTunes application for Windows, have shown millions of Windows users how software - and hardware - should be and at least one sixth of those polled said they planned to abandon the Windows platform now that they've 'seen the light'.

One doesn't need a PhD in history to go back to the DOJ trials at the end of the last millennium to remember how Microsoft bullied both Real Networks and the very superior QuickTime out of the Windows market.

Anyone familiar with QuickTime - especially on the OS X platform - knows how good it is, and almost everyone has had occasion to experience how poor Microsoft's competing product is, has always been, and always will be.

Not that such a trivial and insignificant matter would ever stop the likes of Bill Gates, who is now clowning with the ultimate pretension: that other companies are using methods he was previously convicted of using.

Bill Gates has one design and one design only on the Apple iTunes Music Store, the iTunes application, and the iPod: destroy them all. Crud like Bill Gates don't change overnight and for no good reason. He's rotten to the core and no more honest than at any other time in his life.

He's established the egregious PlaysForSure website - a propaganda coup if there ever was one. Of course it's owned and operated by Microsoft.

What is PlaysForSure according to Bill's Propaganda Minister?

'Look for the PlaysForSure logo if you're shopping for a portable music or video device and you want to make sure the digital music and video you purchase will play back on it every time. Match the PlaysForSure logo on a large selection of leading devices and online music stores. If you see the logo you'll know your digital music will play for sure.

'The PlaysForSure logo makes it easy to find digital media stores and devices that work together.'

Of course there's a download link to Microsoft Windows Media Player 10. OS X users can download a seven megabloat monster representing Windows Media Player 9. Linux users can't download a thing.

Windows Media Player Download
Your operating system is not currently supported by Windows Media Player.

And as the greediest biped on the planet, of course Bill Gates has more up his sleeve.

Bottom line? It's Microsoft software, so it only plays some of the time; and it's part of the Bill Gates Global Domination Money Sucking Scheme, so it only plays for now.
