TIME Person of the Year™
The others never had a chance.
NEW YORK (Rixstep) — The others never had a chance. Mark Zuckerberg has been chosen as TIME Person of the Year™ for 2010. Close behind were Hamid Karzai and the Tea Party.
Zuckerberg placed a comfortable #10 with 18,353 votes and an average rating of 52%. Karzai placed a respectable #25; the Tea Party didn't place at all but they were proud to be part of the competition.
Others tipped to win were Barack Obama who deservedly won the Nobel Peace Prize last year, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert for reducing the sick political climate in the US to a fun day for friends and family, and Lady Gaga for revolutionising the world through her amazing music.
Others tipped for the honour were the 'Unemployed American' (despite the name it includes only people in the US) mainly because there are so many of them; and Sarah Palin because the batshit insane counts in a country so in love with war.
TIME has always been an influential publication in the US. That influence has never been impartial or for the good.
