Шереме́тьево (Rixstep) — Edward Snowden received his papers today and has left Moscow airport, accompanied by WikiLeaks associate Sarah Harrison to an undisclosed location in Russia.

'We have won the battle - now the war', tweeted the WikiLeaks twitter account.

Four tweets from @wikileaks came in rapid succession.

WikiLeaks confirmed that Snowden had been in their care since his presence in Hong Kong.

Snowden's asylum is valid for one year.

WikiLeaks thanked the Russian people and all those who'd helped. 'We have won the battle - now the war.'
