Brendon's informal survey.
Good friend Brendon C Bleebwart just got back from a visit to the City by the Bay where he was shocked at the number of male couples strolling around in Fisherman's Wharf hand in hand and listening to iPods.
Intrigued - and thinking he might be onto something - he conducted an informal survey amongst the couples he ran into. Here were his questions.
- Do you own an iPod?
- Do you own an Apple computer?
- Are you in fact GAY?
Not surprisingly 100% of the 242 individuals (121 couples) Brendon interviewed owned iPods; 98% said they owned an Apple computer; and a full 100% of those who answered 'yes' to question 2 also answered 'yes' to question 3.
Now totally sure he was onto something, Brendon went back up Market Street and, wandering down from the Mark Hopkins to Union Square, conducted a new survey. This time he would confront all iPod users regardless of ostensible sexual/cultural preference. Here were his new questions.
- Do you own an iPod?
- Do you own an Apple computer?
- Are you in fact GAY?
Not surprisingly 100% of the 441 individuals Brendon interviewed this time owned iPods; only 41% said they owned an Apple computer; but a full 98% of those who answered 'yes' to question 2 also answered 'yes' to question 3.
'Veni vidi vici', said Brendon to our chief editor.
'I think you mean QED', said the chief editor.
