CUPERTINO CA (Rixstep) -- Apple Inc announced today they have sold nine hundred ninety nine thousand nine hundred ninety nine units of their fabled iPhone and now have their sights set on the one million mark.

'We wouldn't have believed it a month ago but now it's within reach', said Nancy Heinen from her beach cottage on an undisclosed Caribbean island. 'I think we're seeing the beginnings of a fabulous success story.'

Fred Anderson was equally euphoric. 'Had I known what was going on I wouldn't have left - and I am certain Jon [Rubinstein] wouldn't have left either. But Avie [Tevanian] was basically out the door.'
