Cupertino Pushes Prices

Apple have announced a new series of PowerBooks and iBooks which are pushing the price barrier more than ever before.

The new PowerBook comes with the enhanced screen (greater resolution and brighter image), the Cinema Display hookup, G4 processors of at least 867 MHz (top is 1GHz), and the SuperDrive, making it possible to burn DVDs away from home. The pricing is somewhat of a sensation as well: PowerBooks of this new line hold approximately the same prices as a year ago.

The iBook is still the best deal ever in the laptop market. The bottom of the line model is now $999.
