Acme Autoparts

It could have been evolution.

Acme Autoparts was a curious startup. Founded in Backwoods Tennessee by Billy Joe Dirth, the company philosophy from the beginning was 'don't cheat don't lie give the customer what the customer needs and to a good price'.

Auto mechanics working for Acme were trained and retrained and kept on the cutting edge and anyone not making the mark was put in the post room or out to pasture.

Honesty and ethics were the hallmarks of Billy Joe both as an entrepreneur and as an individual, say all who know him. Billy Joe would never have considered doing anything unethical, hiding anything from his customers, or doing dirty deals with the competition.

Which is probably why Acme Autoparts rose to its industry prominence.

Today Acme Autoparts is franchised all over the world and there is nary a competitor that can stay in business. Anyone wanting a startup in an area Billy Joe hasn't made it to has a chance, and Billy Joe would never try to bully them out if they made a go of it, but Billy Joe is so big that almost no one would even dare.

People around the world love Billy Joe, and they love him for what he stands for: quality, good service, honesty, ethics - and of course reasonable prices.

Billy Joe Dirth's Acme Autoparts is a monopoly but no one is complaining.

Microsoft was a curious startup. Founded in Albuquerque by Bllly H Gates, the company philosophy from the beginning was 'cheat lie sell the customer what the customer thinks is good to the highest price you can get away with'.

Software engineers working for Microsoft were never trained, much less retrained, the only cutting edge they knew being in the products of the competitors they were ordered to study to see what Billy Gates could steal, and the only engineers put in the post room or out to pasture were those questioning the company's lack of ethics or those suggesting the company tighten up its code and security.

A total lack of honesty and ethics was the hallmark of Billy Gates both as an entrepreneur and as an individual, say all who know him. Billy Gates would never have considered doing anything ethical, being open with his customers, or doing clean deals with the competition.

Which is probably why Microsoft rose to its industry prominence.

Today Billy's Microsoft is franchised all over the world and there is nary a competitor that can stay in business. Anyone wanting a startup in an area Billy hasn't made it to has no chance, as Billy Gates would bully them out as soon as they made a go of it; Billy Gates is so big almost no one would even dare.

People around the world hate Billy Gates, and they hate him for what he stands for: lack of quality, piss-poor service, dishonesty, total lack of ethics - and of course unreasonable prices.

Billy H Gates's Microsoft is a monopoly and everyone is complaining.
