MELBOURNE (Rixstep) — Liberty Victoria's 2011 Voltaire Award goes to WikiLeaks and Julian Assange. The award dinner will be held on 6 August 2011 at the San Remo Ballroom. Drinks served at 19:00 local time. Julian Assange will greet the diners by prerecorded telecast from London.
Julian Assange is currently held up at an East Anglian estate on some ridiculous charges by Swedish hyenas.
A three course dinner is provided. There's table service for beer, wine, and sugared water with bubbles. The real good stuff costs extra.
Auction!
There'll be an auction as well, after the peremptory speeches. So far the list includes the following.
Dinner for two at Amiconi. Italian nosh. BYO. Only wine served.
(An Amiconi cooking tip. Turn the sound off - you've been warned.)
