ALISO VIEJO (Rixstep) — Just a walk in the park: rushing past Xcode 10's 350,000+ files (whereof 94,939 directories). (Unseen are two additional columns of data.)
This amazing program scrolled past better than 1600 directories per minute or better than 27 directories per second.
For Xfile it's just a walk in the park. But do try it on TFF or PF. Good luck, really.
Most other so-called 'file managers' on Apple's 'macOS' can't even expand that many directories without hanging or crashing, much less browse through them.
The hardware's fast enough, the underlying frameworks and rendering code are good enough - but isn't it amazing that, with so much brilliant technology, today's application developers can do so little?
