In the middle east there are mud slides where the ground suddenly begins moving and pulling everything with it.

South Americans have had innumerable floods this year; hundreds of people have perished.

Up here in Scandinavia we shouldn't believe we're protected from these terrible forces of nature.

The following photograph was taken in Scania during Tuesday's earthquake. It makes it clear we shouldn't take things for granted in life - the catastrophes created by Mother Nature can occur anywhere and at any time.
