iTunes8

'We stood before it and began to freeze inside from the exertion.
We questioned the application, berated it, made love to it, prayed to it:
we called it mother, called it whore and slut, called it our beloved, called it iTunes.'

Get It

Try It

It sure starts off good enough. 122293534 bytes for an MP3 player. 5993 files. For one program.

It's two thirds the size of the recent 10.5.5 update all by itself. And it's one program.

But shed no tear. Just get to work. Four thousand three hundred seventy two of those files you don't need.

But still you're not there. How many files named '2981.arrow.gif' and of the exact same size? How many called 'access_border_bottom.gif' and the same way?

[And isn't it great iTunes8 uses the puny 256 colours of GIF instead of TIFF? So things work on the powerful Windows too?]

Back to work.

Much better.
