The OmniFocus Project: Summing Up

How good are the app uninstallers?

Get It

Try It

The 'app uninstaller' is not the app Apple forgot. Apple wouldn't get caught shipping something so flaky. App uninstallers use extremely simple heuristic algorithms to locate associated files. They cannot possibly find everything, often don't find things they should, and occasionally issue false positives which are rather dangerous.

The good thing is at least these apps are decent about it, giving you a list of 'suggestions' rather than going ahead and destroying things without your approval. And those suggestions have to be suggestions and no more: the apps are guessing. It might be intelligent guesswork but it's still guesswork: they don't know.

Here's the table.
