Killer app.

If there is a third killer app after the web browser and the mail client, this is it. Especially RSS has really taken off, and picking up the feeds is a lot faster than surfing all the respective sites. It also offers a better overview.

NetNewsWire by Brent Simmons of Ranchero Software is the clear leader. It's a well thought out application with fantastic attention to detail in the visual feedback department and it handles the arcane art of networking and multithreading in a way that makes other titles green with envy.

Brent was recently acquired by NewsGator Technologies but will continue to work on the program.

It's a killer app - just get it.
